For the first time ever in St. Mary's Parish Primary School, we got the chance to take part in the INTEL mini-scientist competition. We worked tirelessly over the past few months on science projects that we are very proud of.
Our classroom was transformed into a mini science lab and was home to a number of different experiments. We investigated everything from the effectiveness of antibacterial sprays, how clean is our classroom, water purity and filtration, autumn leaf study, changing the density of Oobleck, how clean is our money, and can bacteria move towards a secondary food source?
We worked closely in groups to design the experiment, carry out the investigations, analyse the results and publish our findings both digitally and physically on a poster.
We were visited by the judges from INTEL who were so impressed with all the projects in our school. After a tense morning, we received the news that the overall winning project in the school was "How Clean is Our Classroom?" which came from our class. The celebratory screams echoed throughout the school building. The hard work definitely paid off!
We really enjoyed working on our projects and we have learned so much. We are all now mini-scientists and ready to take on the world!
